There's always something to enjoy at Port Solent, and this summer is no exception. From Kids Clubs throughout the school holidays to car meet events and live music shows, there's something to suit all ages and interests. What's more, all the events are totally free to attend, and there's free parking as well.

Port Solent is described as the place to 'find your happy', and that's no surprise given everything that's coming up over the weeks and months ahead.

Get into the groove at the Mix Tape sessions

Mix it up with a sizzling line-up of summer sounds, as the ‘pop’-ular waterside leisure destination will be rocking throughout the four Summer Mix Tape events. There's free live music to enjoy in the sunshine, with Royal Rhythms, Brit-Pop Madness, Sounds of Summer and the return of Totally Tributes.

A right Royal knees-up is planned for the King’s Coronation on 7 May with regal performances from Forever Queen; Craig Jefferson and The Wonder of Elvis band; and Kingz of Leon. Grab your crowns and celebrate from 1pm.

Cool Britannia will rule the airwaves once again when Brit-Pop Madness heads to Port Solent on 27 May, from 1pm. It Must Be Madness will welcome you to the ‘House of Fun’, along with 90s tribute bands 19 Forever, Supersonics and Blurd.

Get ready to dance the day away in the sun with the Sounds of Summer from the local artists Bootlegs, Funkline and Ten Dollar Shake on 24 June.

After the success of last year’s Totally Tributes, the event returns on 29 July for a fantastic afternoon of live music, paying tribute to some of the biggest pop legends over the years. Abba Fever, Pop-Up Bowie and RU 40 will get the crowd singing and dancing – you can even go along dressed as your favourite music star!

Free Kids Clubs all summer long

On Tuesdays and Thursdays during school holidays the youngsters can enjoy a huge variety of activities at the regular – and hugely popular – Kids Clubs. This summer will play host to everything from disco parties to magic shows and music lessons. Animal lovers are also well catered for, with mobile farms and live birds of prey. Or, how about watching some BMX and mountain bike specialists put on a daring and action-packed show?

There's all this and more to enjoy, not just during the summer holidays but during the June and October half term breaks as well. Timings vary by event, but typically take place throughout the afternoon.

Get revved up for the Car Meets

Are you a fully-fledged petrol head, or just a casual admirer of classic cars? Either way, you'll want to get along to the Car Meet events, where some of the most dedicated collectors, restorers and keepers of iconic vehicles show off their collections.

People gathered around a classic car at Port Solent

As well as the regular Sunday Car meets, this summer will bring a host of Evening Car Meet events to Port Solent, each focusing on a different brand or marque. The list is exhaustive, but includes TVRs, Mustangs, MX-5s, Porches, Subarus and more.

Indulge your passion and speak with vehicle owners to get up to speed on a whole range of truly iconic cars.

Enjoy the picturesque Waterside Markets

From April to November Port Solent hosts a regular Waterside Market, taking place on the second Sunday of each month. Over 50 stallholders showcase their wares, with everything from handmade gifts to artisanal food products and fresh produce. There's also the chance to give yourself a little treat from some of the food and drink vendors selling freshly prepared creations.

What's more, the market's picturesque location on the Boardwalk means you also get to enjoy a leisurely stroll around the marina as well. It's a fantastic way to spend a sunny Sunday – and don’t forget the centre's various other shops and restaurants (plus cinema and fitness club) that you can also enjoy during your visit.
